Awake O Sleeper. Awake O Worshipper. Awake! Awake! So that the King of Glory may come in.
He is not coming for just a bride with out blemish, He is not coming just for a bride with out spot but He is coming for a bride that is awake.
We must wake up!
If we are not awake we will miss when He comes. We have to know the times and seasons of the Lord, be prepared for His coming. No, this has nothing to do with a second coming but it does have everything to do with a greater encounter, something that will surpass anything experienced in or by previous moved of God.
Sadly people have marketed and worshipped the former moves of God just John fell before the angel in Revelations instead of worshipping God. He is done there. What is left is the residue and residual of what was. He is knocking on the doors of our hearts now to see if we are awake. To see if we are willing do away with traditions and mindsets to allow Him to reign and enter.
If we look at these scriptures in Song of Solomon we will see what the Lord is saying at this time:
Awake, O north wind, And come, O south! Blow upon my garden, That its spices may flow out. Let my beloved come to his garden And eat its pleasant fruits. I have come to my garden, my sister, my spouse; I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk. Eat, O friends! Drink, yes, drink deeply, O beloved ones! I sleep, but my heart is awake; It is the voice of my beloved! He knocks, saying, “Open for me, my sister, my love, My dove, my perfect one; For my head is covered with dew, My locks with the drops of the night.” I have taken off my robe; How can I put it on again? I have washed my feet; How can I defile them? My beloved put his hand By the latch of the door, And my heart yearned for him. I arose to open for my beloved, And my hands dripped with myrrh, My fingers with liquid myrrh, On the handles of the lock. I opened for my beloved, But my beloved had turned away and was gone. My heart leaped up when he spoke. I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer. The watchmen who went about the city found me. They struck me, they wounded me; The keepers of the walls Took my veil away from me. I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, If you find my beloved, That you tell him I am lovesick! – Song of Solomon 4:16-5:8
We the Church have been crying out for God to visit us, to pour out His presence, simply to encounter us with who He is. Then knocks, sees if we are ready but He catches off guard, we are asleep. The Shulamite in the passage above said she wanted her beloved to come be intimate with her, He came and knocked on the door but it wasn’t the right time. See she had already done and performed all the traditions prior to going bed, at that moment He was inconvenience to her because it wasn’t the right time, if it was just a little earlier and if she hadn’t already did all the things she had done to get where she was because where she was she was comfortable.
Here is the picture for us today. We are asking God to move in our church, asking for revival, fasting and praying, and going to church three days a week. But why? Business and activities does not necessarily equate intimacy.
Now according to most of the Christians these actions are either radical or very spiritual. However, doing more church or Christianity doesn’t improve or deepen our relationship with God. He is wanting intimacy with us, He is knocking on the doors of our hearts. What is our response?
Generally we get side tracked, we get busy but they are with legitimate things like work, family, social gatherings, and so on and so on. I am not saying quit our jobs, disown our families, and becoming socially absent but I am speaking of our hearts. Some say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. I don’t know if that is really the definition but it’s sure used a lot in sermons
When a movement comes and goes we must let it go, like let it go.
Often people try to hold on to what has already happen, mistaking the oil and dew on the door knob for God and have not seen He has left. Going on this wild chase looking for Him when all we simply need to is be still for a moment, at least long enough to get a drink of water and who knows we might just see Him at the well.
Why all this rambling you ask?
God is getting ready to do even more powerfully than what we have had but we need to make sure we are ready and let go of everything that would hinder us from when He comes.
